Each leg of the tripod can be independently extended from 40 inches to 64 inches and firmly locked into place.
The feet at the bottom of the three legs are furnished with a threaded foot pad and a replaceable pointed steel spike for secure placement on rough terrain.
The three-section prism pole is locked into place with a reliable twist-lock mechanism. It includes a precision leveling bubble (40 minute). The pole extends from 4.8 feet to 11.8 feet. The pole is marked with both metric and imperial measurements.
The tripod/prism pole combo was used by me to survey a 5-acre lot for road, well, and home construction. It is in excellent condition and has only minor paint chips. It functions perfectly.
