EMI Surge Suppressor from Ruggedized MacIIcx - $30 (grants pass)

This is all I have left from a super-militarized Mac IIcx that I owned about 25 years ago.

It was designed to be EMP resistant (i.e. nuclear bomb resistant) and was used in a "SCIF" type room where they were concerned about Russia and China using RF antennas etc. to detect key-strokes from computers used by scientists working on the proverbial "sensitive military programs".

So they wrapped EVERYTHING in a copper & aluminum ground plane, including the mouse and keyboard.

This part is the thing that fed power to the power supply. This thing was not so much about preventing spying, as simply providing EMI protection for the computer.

It has 2 fuses and provisions for, sort of, 1 1/2 power cords. The normal thing that plugs into the power supply, and the companion socket (if you have the right old-fashioned male-female power cord) so it can provide EMI-filtered power to the monitor, for example.

The US gov. paid about $10K to ruggedize the whole Mac 2 cx.

I guess this is one of the few parts from that system, that are still compatible with today's hardware.
