In the physical therapy clinic, where I worked for 6 years, we had a saying "use it or lose it". As the body ages, often it becomes challenging to move as much and/or the correct way that we should. Pain is felt through the path of least resistance. Pain, by and large, is displaced when strength is increased or when the body movement is corrected.
My history has been working with the 65 and older population, although I work with every age group. I have been a certified personal trainer for 18 years, worked in a variety of gym settings, including several retirement homes and, of course, the sports medicine based outpatient physical therapy clinic in suburban Los Angeles. My job was returning people to pain-free or pain-reduced. I also kicked some booty in personal training.
Anyone reading this can benefit from my services and I encourage all to reply. My passion, I have found, is for the retirement aged and elderly. Many of these folks have found their golden years getting a bit rusty. I provide the motivation, tools, and exercise programs designed for your strength, balance, and stretching needs in a private session. Group exercise classes are great because everyone can socialize and workout at the same time. There is a variety of ways to get it done. What works for you? Reply here, thanks so much for reading.
