About the Event:
Rogue Marathon 2026 is a large-scale community race event spanning from Ashland to Central Point, Oregon. The event includes a Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, and Kids 1-Mile race taking place on active public roads and pathways without street closures.
Traffic control and participant safety are critical components of the event’s success. Certified Flaggers will support designated traffic control points throughout the course and assist with maintaining safe traffic flow for runners, volunteers, pedestrians, and the public.
About the Role:
Our client is seeking Certified Flaggers to support traffic control operations throughout the Rogue Marathon event. Flaggers will be assigned to designated intersections and traffic control points along the course and will be responsible for deploying signage, directing traffic, monitoring race crossings, and assisting with safe event operations.

Candidates who are not currently certified but are interested in future flagging opportunities may still be considered. Information on local Oregon Flagger Certification training providers can be provided upon request.
Key Responsibilities:
» Report to assigned traffic control location prior to race start; 7:30 am
» Safely direct vehicle traffic and assist with pedestrian awareness throughout the event
» Monitor race crossings and maintain awareness of runners and surrounding traffic conditions
» Follow all traffic control and safety procedures while on assignment
» Remain at assigned post until released by event sweep personnel
» When the event finishes, remove and secure all signage before leaving the assigned area ~ 2:00 pm
» Communicate professionally with event staff, emergency personnel, participants, and the public
Required Qualifications:
» Current Oregon Flagger Certification required
» Own and be able to provide a high-visibility safety vest and Stop/Slow paddle (preferred)
» Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions
» Reliable transportation to the assigned traffic control location
» Strong communication skills and situational awareness
» Ability to stand for extended periods and remain attentive in active traffic environments
Schedule:
» Saturday, October 10, 2026
» Marathon begins at 7:30 AM / Estimated event breakdown completion by 2:00 PM
» Shift times may vary depending on the assigned traffic control point and event progression
