Shuni (or Shooyna) The Buddha is made out of Suar Wood and very heavy! The botanical name for Suar wood is Saman Samanea and in some countries they call it Monkey Pod or Rain Tree as well. Suar trees are easily recognized by their characteristic umbrella shaped canopy.
The tree usually reaches heights of 50 - 80 feet. It is not endangered and fast growing tropical hardwood with a criss cross, interlocking grain, which makes is very strong. Suar wood grow in many different countries and areas like Thailand, Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico and even Hawaii. It grows naturally in almost every area where it has been introduced.
The hand gesture is used to improve intuition, alertness and sensory powers. It also purifies your emotions and thoughts.

The Mudra is performed by touching the tip of the middle finger to the thumb tip, while keeping the other three fingers straight and relaxed.
