THE AMERICAN FASHION FIGURINE COLLECTION - 1982
A rare opportunity to own the complete 9 pc. Lenox "The American Fashion Figurine Collection" made available in the 1980's. This collection is a unique collection of porcelain costume figurines that recreate the most important eras in American fashion with delightful authenticity.
Each figurine (8" - 9" tall) is individually crafted of fine bisque porcelain...perfect small details as the sculptured white roses in The Centennial Bride's bouquet..the gentle drape of a shawl over graceful arms in Gala at the White House.
The collection consists of the following figurines:
Springtime Promenade (first issue..tribute to the romantic fashions of the 1840's)
Gala at the White House (Empire gown..she is the center of all eyes at the festive reception given by President Monroe).
Grand Tour (In a traveling costume that is the height of late Victorian perfection)
Tea at the Ritz (Turn-of-the Century marks teatime ensemble)
Belle of the Ball (a flower of the Old South, her ball gown and delicate beauty capture every heart at Savannah's ball)
First Waltz (Gibson Girl Era)
The Centennial Bride (wedding gown-- delectable Victorian confection-created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Lenox
The Governor's Garden Party (She's the epitome of 18th century elegance...powdered curls and graceful fan)
Royal Reception - final issue of the American Fashion Figurine Collection. Includes marble and hardwood display base. This piece did not come with the Certificate of Authenticity...we have a color brochure and information sheet on the era depicted. Hand numbered #5996. Enriched with more 24 karat gold than any other figurine in the collection.
Completing the collection are:
Certificates of Authenticity for each figurine (except as noted above) along with the card with complete descriptions of the era and clothing depicted on the figurine.
Original Styrofoam packing and sleeve with name of figurine imprinted on the sleeve. (please note: Belle of the Ball did not come with the sleeve...only the Styrofoam packing which we have). We questioned Lenox about no sleeve...we never received a reply. Sleeves are in great condition..no rips..a few have a small fold on corner from putting into boxes when moving.
In several cases we obtained and kept the colored brochure from Lenox also describing in full detail the figurines dresses and info on the era depicted. We have the original brochure describing the collection and shows all 8 figurines in the collection.
In many cases we have original invoices....
