Made in 1910 and in pristine shape, this cabinet is beautiful and a conversation piece. Traditional design includes roomy, slatted and studded cabinet below, multiple drawers of varied sizes, with metal-studded sliding doors. Top section fits into bottom section with traditional Japanese woodwork.
Was most likely used in the kitchen of a Japanese household for the storage of plates, utensils and food items. Most kitchen chests will not have locks and will have a combination of sliding doors and drawers. These cabinets are famous for their hidden compartments! I haven't found one here, but maybe you will!
I believe it's Hinoki (Cypress) wood.
