Beautifully simple, hand crafted solid wood table lamp, probably from the 60's. Made by Wood Whittler's of Gatlinburg Tennessee, Smoky Mountains, and is so marked on the base. The lamp is 28 1/2" high to the top of the shade harp, which is extendable about 2" more. It has no shade - originally a woven wood drum style. The 6 1/4" x 6 1/2" base and lathe-turned lamp wood body are all one solid piece. Very good vintage condition, not easy to find a lamp of this beauty and solid quality these days. This lamp was described on Ebay described as being made of teak, but more likely it is a native Tennessee wood such as cherry or walnut. It has been rewired using the original plug and switch/bulb case for authenticity.
