I would like to start a homeschoolers/unschoolers group at my house 7 miles up Sterling Creek. I have a 6 year old son who is now being "schooled" at home and I'd love to have more children learning with us. We have a beautiful safe environment that welcomes children.

I am in the beginning stage of setting this all up, so I am first putting word out to see who all might be interested, I do live 7 miles up Sterling Creek ad for most it can be a hike. However, it will be well worth it.

If I can get a small group of children with dedicated parents who are either homeschooling,unschooling and looking for play/learning mates then here's what I am thinking:

-the group will be small and meet regularly on a scheduled basis at my home.
-the days will be half days or full days depending on individual preference/needs.
-we will meet 3 days out of the week.
-field trips into the woods and into nature each day as we learn about the Siskiyou Forest.
-time for arts and crafts with a more natural,green and earth conscious approach.
-cooking,baking,play,gardening(fall,winter,spring,summer)
-reading and writing at each childs own pace,readiness and desire.
-much more hands on learning.
-a very relaxed approach to learning with most learning through play and games.
I am open to setting up a playgroup as well as this group for afterschoolers and weekenders. PLease contact me for more info on that. That of course will be put together and worked out after this group is formed and according to hours and days set aside for that at that time.
